Experiencing Ezra’s joy as he watched images of his family’s Raining Gumball session dance across the screen, reminded me exactly why I do what I do. Each wide grin that lit up his face and giggle of laughter made me feel like a child myself!

For the very first Yellow Circle session, I spent hours crafting puffy clouds and raindrops made out of paper. I filled the studio with the sweet smell of 80 pounds of gumballs (yes, real gumballs) and found the perfect rainbow umbrellas. All to see the smiles on the kid’s faces as they entered the studio!

My goal is to make each YC session so much fun that the kids go home talking about it and are excited to return for the next session.

I believe that photo sessions should not only produce amazing images, but also happy memories!

The Yellow Circle is a year of imaginative portraiture for the children in your life!

Welcome Baby Braxton | Lacey, WA Newborn Photographer

Welcome Baby Braxton | Lacey, WA Newborn Photographer

Braxton’s big sister, was born on my birthday three years ago and this year, I was thrilled to spend my birthday taking Braxton’s newborn photos. As I snuggled him, I was overwhelmed by how much he looks like his big sister. Now normally this isn’t such a big deal, but you see in this situation it’s quite the testament to the plan that was in place for this family. Both Brynlee and Braxton join the Gurrad’s through the blessings of adoption. Each from different families. So you see, the fact that they look like each other is a very big deal. It has been such a joy watching this family grow and I’m thankful that I’ve been granted the honor of photographing these two amazing children and I look forward to watching the grow over the years.

Session Full of Giggles, Grins & Childhood Spunk

Session Full of Giggles, Grins & Childhood Spunk

You’ve spent a good deal of time getting the kids ready and have done your very best to get them to your session still intact; no melt downs, no messes on their dress clothes. During their session, they are being well, um… kids. The session wraps and you drive home hoping, just hoping your photographer got a decent image.

I’ve been there, I know exactly how that feels after our own family session.  If you are like me, all you ever want from a session are images that show off your child’s unique personality and sibling connections. Images that you’ll want to hang on your walls and gaze upon that remind you of child at that moment in time forever.

Peyton and Kaylie are a bundle of energy. Kaylie might even be related to the energizer bunny. Very few children love being photographed, which is why keeping the session fun is essential. We run, we play, we do jumping jacks, whatever it takes! These games just look like craziness, but truly it is the magic to capturing personality in images, like these of Peyton and Kaylie.

As they grow, I hope they’ll look back on these photos and remember how much they enjoyed each others company. How Peyton is an amazing big brother who adores his little sister. And I hope their momma can look back at the image on the bottom right and remember what it was like being able to carry Kaylie in her arms and make her giggle uncontrollably just by calling out random things and colors.
